If this is the first time that you have thought about coming to a 3-D shoot, there are a few things you need to know to have a good time.
Boots
You will be walking over 44 acres. Sometimes in the spring and fall there is a lot of wet slippery ground and some standing water.
You will need to have a pair of waterproof boots to come off the range in as good of a mood as you went in.
Insect Repellant
We do a lot to keep the population of mosquitoes to a minimum. But you should still carry a bottle of repellant in the warm times of
the year to not be bothered by insects.
Hat or Cap
Some of the range is in the open. You might need a cap to protect your eyes from the sun and to be able to see better to make a shot.
Archery Equipment
Bring your archery equipment if you have any, but we do have a limited amount of Genniss bows and arrows that can be used at no cost.
These are on a first come basis.
Supervision
At any one of our 3-D shoots we can have upwards of 100 shooters on the range. We do our best helping anyone getting on there feet
shooting archery; with instruction and answering questions. But in most cases the shooter will need to be able after some instruction
to go around the range without one of our staff to assist you. For this reason we do ask that children under the age of 16 be accompanied
by an adult on the course, and that anyone under 18 has an adult present to sign them in.
Safety
Our course is always set with everyone’s safety as the most important concern. One of the most important things to remember out on the
course is that the trail you walk getting from target to target by design goes (one way only)! A shooter must not turn around and go back out.
If you need to exit the course without shooting all the targets, you must walk the trail out following the trail signs to the end!
What you can expect at the shoot?
When you arrive at the club, you need to come in the building and get signed in at the sign up table. Here we will ask you a few
questions to see what type of archery class to put you in or get you with a staff member to assist you in some equipment if needed.
After you are signed in you are free to use the practice range as long as you need and then head out on the 3-D course. The course will
take you anywhere from 2 to 3 hours to shoot depending on the number of shooters and how fast you shoot. When on the range you will most
likely not be close to other shooters. Our course is set using over 40 acres. You will see other shooters, but there isn’t usually a group
that is watching you shoot, so you don’t need to feel like you need to be an ace shooter to come out. The classes are set at different
distances with beginners at no more that 25 yards. If you are not comfortable at that long of a distance you are free to move as close to
the target as you feel comfortable shooting.
